Company Profile

Frank Haslam Milan is part of the award-winning Keepmoat Group, the regeneration specialists.

Founded in 1928, FHM now employs approximately 1200 people in community regeneration and public sector construction projects and has an annual turnover of £195 million.

Based in the English regions of the North East, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the East of England, FHM has helped transform the lives of thousands of people. We deliver a holistic package of housing services, including refurbishment, repairs, Extra Care residential schemes, maintenance and new build projects.

We are a major partner in the drive to bring all social housing up to the Government's Decent Homes Standard by 2010. Through our long-established partnerships with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Registered Social Landlords, over 40,000 Decent Homes are handed over each year.

We are proud of the community values upon which the business was founded and strive to ensure they remain strongly embedded in the daily fabric of the company. Tenant and resident satisfaction is of crucial importance to FHM. We are an associate member of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and have won more than 100 Awards, including both Gold and Silver. We were one of the first contractors nationally to be accredited with the 'Contractor Resident Involvement Quality Mark' in a national pilot developed by TPAS for involving our customers in how we carry out repairs, maintenance and capital works.

We place a high priority on the training and development of our employees, from career skills support and industry-led apprenticeships to our pioneering schemes aimed at providing practical learning for 14 to 25-year-olds. Approximately 10% of our workforce is a trainee or apprentice, which is higher than the national average. Our aim is to enable all of our employees to fulfil their potential.

According to the Sunday Times we are one of The Best Companies to Work For. We were one of the first construction companies in the country to be awarded Investors in People status. And we were named Best Large Employer for Practical Learning by the Edge Employer initiative, backed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and Yo! Sushi founder, Simon Woodroffe.

We emphasise quality and community interest in all our work. Our schemes are nationally recognised and award-winning. Our customers have high levels of satisfaction. We set national standards in the training of our staff. And we are helping to make a real difference to the lives of the people we serve.
