New Home Zone for Sheffield with Great Places

These striking new homes will represent a housing 'first' for Sheffield when they are completed by FHM Yorkshire and East Midlands for developer Great Places Housing Group next year.

The former Deerlands School site in Lindsey Road, Parson Cross, will be redeveloped with 35 stunning, colourful new houses - unlike any other homes in the city. They will be part of a specially-designated Home Zone area, the first for Sheffield.

Home Zones are designed to give equal priority to traffic and local residents, thanks to measures including highly visible signage and shared road spaces.
Great Places Housing Group's Deputy Chief Executive Matthew Harrison said: "These modern and affordable homes will be designed to the highest standard. They will help to meet the need for great-quality accommodation in this part of Sheffield. We aim to create a place where people will really aspire to live".

FHM is also working with Great Places in Richmond Park, Sheffield to build two new three-storey,timber frame apartment blocks. This development will be first new housing to be unveiled in the area since the estate was built in the late 1960s. Both developments will meet Code Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Housing.

Paul Senior, Contracts Director from FHM said: "These exciting schemes will be developed to very high standards and strike a real positive blow for the development of high quality, affordable housing in Sheffield.

"The Parson Cross development promises to be a particularly outstanding scheme, which will provide local people with access to high quality housing and make a huge impact on the regeneration of the area".
